How does 2K/4K/8K count? What does 720P/1080P mean?

` P ',' K '

` P '

720P, 1080P, etc., represent "the number of video pixels in the head office." For example, 720P indicates that the video has 720 lines of pixels, while 1080P indicates that the video has a total of 1080 lines of pixels, and 1080P resolution cameras usually have 1920 * 1080. ` P 'itself represents "progressive scanning," which is an abbreviation for Progress, relative to interlaced scanning.

` K '

2K, 4K, etc., represent the "total number of video pixels", such as 4K, which means that the video has 4,000 pixels, specifically 3840 * 4096 columns. The 4K resolution camera is usually 3840 * 2160 or 4096 * 2160.

1080P

In the past, vertical resolution has been used to describe resolution. Because 1080P represents vertical resolution. The aspect ratio of almost all high-definition displays is 1.78:(ie, 16 * 9, also known as "wide screen"), which means that its horizontal resolution is 1920 pixels(ie, 1920 * 1080).

Therefore, 1080P does not equal "1K". Just as ultra-high clearance is equivalent to 4K, 1080P is equivalent to 2K. That is, the 1920 * 1080 resolution is very close to the 2K standard described by DCI. Even so, most people often do not call 1080P 2K, they call it 1080P or full HD.

The number of pixels in 720P is about half of 1080P.

4K

Technically, "4K" means a horizontal resolution of 4096 pixels. This is the resolution proposed by the Digital Power Advocacy Alliance. Due to the different aspect ratios of the power supply, the exact shape of the rectangular screen determines the aspect ratio of the power supply, so its vertical resolution is not specified.

Therefore, strictly speaking, "4K" is not ultra-clear, and the resolution of ultra-high resolution is 3840 * 2160. The difference between the two pixels is only 13 %, and there is basically no big difference. Most people prefer the name "4K" to mean ultra-clear. The reason for 8K is the same as 4K.
